Hola familias,
As you know, the city is proposing moving the Greyhound bus station into the parking garage directly next to Amigos. We need to continue to make it clear that this is not a good option. Together, we’ve written to Councilmember Mark Squilla, and we were able to meet with him last week. The next important step for us to take is to be in touch with the Mayor’s office.
I’ve included an email draft below that you are welcome to use or edit. Please personalize the email as it works for you and then send it to Deputy Mayor Aren Platt (Aren.platt@phila.gov) and to Deputy Director for Development Services in Department of Planning and Development John Mondlak (John.mondlak@phila.gov). Click the "Send Email Now" button at the top to open up a pre-filled email.
You can also copy and paste the letter into the Mayor’s Correspondence form. The more Amigos parents who reach out to the Mayor’s office the better. If both parents and/ or family members can do it, please do!
We also ask as many parents as possible to attend Mayor Parker’s Town Hall tonight, which is conveniently located close to us at McCall. We will push for the opportunity to publicly ask about the Autopark Garage and share our growing concerns.
Mayor Parker’s Town Hall 6:
When: Wednesday, May 15, 2024 | 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Where: McCall, 325 S 7th St., Phila, PA 19106
Hope to see you there! Your support on this means the world to us. Together, we are making progress on this.
Muchas gracias,
Cloe
